Laboratory & Analytical Instrument Chillers
Linggong manufactures a complete range of recirculating chillers purpose-built for laboratory and analytical instrument applications. Whether you need to cool a rotary evaporator, maintain stable temperatures for an ICP-MS spectrometer, or provide consistent coolant flow to a jacketed glass reactor, our lab chiller series delivers ±0.5°C temperature stability across a range from -40°C to +35°C.
All models are available in air-cooled and water-cooled configurations, with quiet compressor design for open-plan laboratory environments. Manufactured in China with internationally sourced compressors, exported to research institutions, pharmaceutical labs, and analytical testing facilities worldwide.
Recirculating Chillers for Rotary Evaporators
The most common laboratory application for our low-temperature chillers. Recirculating chillers used with rotary evaporators require precise temperature control and constant pressure to ensure efficient and rapid heat dissipation during solvent recovery and distillation.
Recommended models: LD Low Temperature Series (-5 to -40°C) · LK Series (5 to 35°C)
Key specs for rotary evaporator use:
● Temperature range: -20°C to +20°C covers most rotavap condensing requirements
● Flow rate: 12–22 L/min for efficient heat exchange
● Connection: standard 3/8" or 1/2" hose fittings

Chillers for ICP, ICP-MS and Analytical Instruments
ICP-MS, atomic absorption spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance, and X-ray fluorescence instruments all require stable coolant supply to maintain detector sensitivity and prevent thermal drift Our water-cooled and air-cooled models provide the low-vibration, stable-flow cooling these instruments require.
Recommended models: LH Water-Cooled Series · LF Air-Cooled Series
Key specs for ICP/analytical use:
Temperature stability: ±0.5°C — prevents baseline drift in sensitive detectors
Low vibration compressor — no interference with instrument electronics
Closed-loop coolant — prevents contamination from tap water impurities

Chillers for Jacketed Reactors and Glass Reactors
Recirculating chillers connect directly to the jacket of double-layer reaction vessels, providing indirect cooling for reaction materials and condensation of vapors, and can be combined with vacuum pumps and rotary evaporators for multi-step synthesis workflows .
Recommended models: LD Series for exothermic reactions requiring sub-ambient cooling · LK Series for ambient to mild cooling applications
Key specs for reactor use:
● Wide temperature range: -40°C to +35°C for endothermic and exothermic reactions
● Adjustable pump pressure — critical for jacket-inlet pressure limitations of glass reactors
● Stainless steel fluid path — chemical resistance for common lab solvents
Chillers for Laser Systems and Vacuum Pumps
Lab-scale recirculating chillers are widely used for cooling laser etching systems, vacuum systems and plasma etching, where stable coolant temperature directly affects beam quality and system longevity .
Recommended models: LZ Split Type Series for high-power laser installations (remote condenser configuration) · LF Air-Cooled for compact laser workstations
Key specs for laser/vacuum use:
● Split-type configuration (LZ): condenser unit can be placed remotely, removing heat from the workspace
● Continuous duty rated — suitable for 24/7 laser operation
● Low-noise operation: <60 dB — suitable for cleanroom adjacent installations

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the difference between a recirculating chiller and a water bath circulator?
A recirculating chiller uses a mechanical refrigeration compressor to cool below ambient temperature, providing precise control typically from -40°C up to +35°C. A water bath circulator uses heating elements and ambient-temperature water — it cannot cool below room temperature. For rotary evaporator or ICP applications where cooling below 20°C is needed, a recirculating chiller is required.
Q2: Which chiller model is recommended for a 5L rotary evaporator?
For a 5L rotary evaporator, we recommend the LD Series (-20°C to -5°C range) if you need sub-zero condensation, or the LK Series if ambient-temperature cooling is sufficient. Cooling capacity of 300–600W is typically adequate for a 5L unit at 20–60 rpm.
Q3: Can your chillers be used with corrosive solvents or acids?
Our standard models use stainless steel fluid paths, suitable for water/glycol mixtures and most common laboratory solvents. For halogenated solvents or acidic coolants, we offer PTFE-lined variants on request. Please specify your coolant chemistry when enquiring.
Q4: Do your lab chillers ship internationally?
Yes. All models are packaged for international freight. We supply to the EU, Southeast Asia, Middle East, and North America. Export documentation (CE, packing list, commercial invoice) is standard. Lead time for standard models is 7–15 working days.
